MY STORY

Behind the name.
Vule, first and foremost.

From the guitar I claimed as my own
to the worlds I’m still building.

“I want what I create to carry meaning.”
01

The guitar that wasn’t meant for me

The guitar came into my life without a plan. My brother was taking lessons with čika Novica, a literature teacher whom I remember as a wonderful music mentor. I watched him show my brother what to play, picked up another guitar and tried to repeat it. I had a strong visual memory: my fingers needed practice, but I quickly connected what I saw with what I needed to play.

When our parents bought my brother a guitar, I more or less claimed it for myself. He was more interested in computers, video and photography, while I had the patience to sit and play. At first, I was learning for myself, largely inspired by EKV and Milan Mladenović. I wanted to play and sing like him.

02

From stage fright to the rush of performing

As a kid, I was shy. Around close friends, though, I was completely different: a dreamer, an explorer and an entertainer. When I was asked to play at school events, I had terrible stage fright. I still went out in front of people. As soon as I started playing, I felt at home.

Later came solo performances, gigs with my friend Aleksandar Dimitrijević, and a band. Playing gave me an incredible rush. We also had our own little ritual: after a night out, we would head to my place for the guitar and keep hanging out with music. At home, alongside the guitar, I was exploring every kind of computer software I could find.

03

How Indig0kid got its name

My friends know me as Vule, Vukašin, Vukmi, Vulence, Vue — there are plenty of nicknames. The story behind Indig0kid started with a joke in Vlasotince. An older man told me, “You’re indigo.” I was confused, so he explained that I looked just like my father, Bratislav, as if I had been copied using indigo carbon paper.

My friends remembered it and kept the joke going, so I started using indig000 as my gaming name for fun. That story eventually led to my artist name. Today, I love Indig0kid as my brand: the name that brings together everything I create.

04

Sound first. Words second.

Listening to Block Out, Nikola Vranjković and Mita inspired me to start writing my own lyrics. I was fascinated by the sounds and the words. I wrote about love, the passing of time and my inner world. Today, I have a deeper appreciation of literature and the power of a single sentence to express or awaken an emotion.

I was playing and making music in FL Studio when my brother Đole later introduced me to Suno. These days, I often start with a melody I play on guitar or an online piano. I build an atmosphere, bring the melody into Suno and describe the direction I want: industrial rock, alternative, electronic chill or something else. Then I spend two or three hours choosing and refining until I find the sound I’m after.

The sound has to move me. Without that feeling, a melody feels empty. When the music sparks something in me, I start humming and the words follow. I usually find the chorus first, then build the verses, word by word. I write from my own feelings and experiences. When I get stuck, I discuss ideas and the direction of a song with ChatGPT, like a music assistant and creative sounding board. Sometimes I use or rework a suggestion; on a few rare songs, it has written most of the lyrics, which I then edited.

05

The person behind the music

I’m sensitive, curious, strong-willed and full of contradictions. I can be quiet and lost in my own world, then playful and full of energy around my people. I value honesty and people who really listen. My childhood friends, who are still close to me today, mean a lot to me.

Home is where I feel good: music, guitar, computers and room to explore. I also enjoy going out and spending time with friends, though I go out less often than I used to. Sport is another big part of my life — tennis, basketball and football. I graduated from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš and briefly worked as a tennis coach.

06

What I’m building next

I’m currently studying programming at IT Academy, on the Microsoft Development track. Alongside music, I’m interested in 3D modeling and creating through technology. I want to make engaging games for children, write children’s stories and publish a book one day.

Art gives me purpose, joy, energy and the drive to keep working. Creating helps me understand myself better. Through my music, I want people to feel honesty, something new and beautiful, and a little of what I feel when I create.

I experiment without needing everything to be perfect, while still trying to make it as good as I can. It feels good to share something I find truly beautiful. I want to earn a living through honest work and quality content — to make things that carry meaning, rather than creating just for the money.

From cover art
to thumbnail.

A short workflow for turning existing cover art into a readable video thumbnail.

  1. 01 / Compose for a wide framePlace the square cover inside a 16:9 canvas. Extend the background or give the artwork its own space beside the title. Stretching the cover changes its proportions.
  2. 02 / Enlarge only if neededIf your artwork looks soft at the size it will occupy, try 2× on the source before adding titles. Compare at 100% and check faces, fine lines and edges.
  3. 03 / Check it at thumbnail sizeAdd the title after resizing so the letters stay sharp. Preview it small and check whether you can still read the title and recognize the main subject.
